Fairwinds Farm produces a diverse selection of fresh small fruit and vegetables harvested on over 130 acres of land in Bowdoinham and Topsham. Over the years we have expanded our operations to now include Maine maple syrup, spring annuals, Christmas trees, and wreaths. Our Farm Stand, located in Topsham on 201 (332 Augusta Rd), is open from May through just before Christmas and offers an array of our fresh produce, maple syrup, and baked goods, along with other items from Maine farms such as meats, cheese, milk, honey, snacks, sauces, and more! We proudly participate in 6 Farmer's Markets during the peak season and 2 markets in the Winter. Fairwinds Farm also works with various restaurants and bakeries from Portland to Rockland, offering wholesale orders so that their guests can enjoy our fresh fruits and vegetables. Our U-Pick Strawberries, Raspberries, and Blueberries at our fields in Bowdoinham have become a destination event for families near and far to enjoy during the season. We also now offer group outings to our U-Pick fields, as well as hosting some great family friendly events throughout the year!
Our History- Fairwinds Farm is owned and operated by Pete and Cathy Karonis, and son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Audree Rackley. Pete retired from the Marine Corps in 1995 and started Fairwinds Farm shortly thereafter, with just the farm stand and three acres of mixed vegetables. Cathy, who grew up in Bowdoinham (and spent summers picking peas on the grounds we now farm!), owned and operated a separate farm at that time. Over the following years, they joined their farms (and lives), and the business has grown to what it is today. Pete and Cathy have 5 grown children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 Newfoundland dogs (who were the inspiration for our logo, of course!). Charlie, being one of their children, joined the farm in 2020, and his wife, Audree, joined full-time in 2023. They have two children, Cylas and Matti, who are frequently featured on our social media, and two cats. Charlie, Audree, and the kids are excited to continue the farm's legacy for years to come!

Curtis Memorial Library is a public library serving the 25,000 residents of Brunswick and Harpswell, Maine. Founded in 1883, the original 1904 Building still stands on Pleasant Street in Brunswick, linked by a sun-filled mezzanine to a 1999 contemporary addition. In addition to lending books, DVDs, audio books, magazines, games, puzzles, and e-audio books, Curtis loans out kitchen and gardening equipment, tools, musical instruments, electronics, WiFi hotspots, yard games and more through its Library of Things.
We welcome nearly 1,000 visitors a day serving toddlers to teens to seniors, and are one of the most trusted organizations in our community.
Five (5) study rooms, two (2) seminar rooms (capacity 15-20, one with a smart screen) and a large meeting room with a small kitchen and 24-hour access (capacity 125) are available for no or a minimal fee to local businesses for interviews, offsite team meetings, and programs. Curtis has the fastest internet in town, and many work-away-from-home/office spaces throughout the library with access to wireless, printing, scanning and copying.
Curtis is a public/private partnership. Municipal support from Brunswick and Harpswell underwrites building upkeep and staffing. Private support - from individuals, local businesses, corporations, foundations, endowment funds and fundraising events and programs - supports the purchase of all books and materials, technology, furniture, programs and events.

In addition to our rotating and immersive exhibits, guided tours, an extensive watercraft collection, and kids play ship, our museum is located on the grounds of a former shipyard, where the largest wooden schooner in the world was launched in 1909. How big was it? Come stand next to an evocation of the Wyoming, which is also the largest outdoor sculpture in New England!
Seasonally, the museum also offers daily lighthouse and nature cruises on the Kennebec, as well as on-site foodservice.
The museum is located at 243 Washington Street, and is open daily (except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day) from 9:30 am to 5 pm. There is so much to see at the museum, admission is valid for two days and since children under 18 receive free admission, this a perfect destination for the whole family.

Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast Maine (SASSMM)’s mission is to support and advocate for people affected by sexual violence, while working to prevent it in our communities. SASSMM offers services to improve awareness, prevention education, and response to sexual violence throughout Eastern Cumberland (Brunswick, Harpswell, and the surrounding Islands), Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Knox and Waldo counties. SASSMM’s main goals are to: improve accessibility of support services for all individuals impacted by sexual violence in the Midcoast; increase service provision and advocacy with survivors; and enhance our prevention and education messaging across schools, service agencies, businesses, and community members to change harmful social norms that perpetuate sexual violence.
Our advocates are available to offer support to survivors at every point in their healing process. This includes in-person and phone/text/chat/online video support as well as client accompaniments through medical/forensic exams ("rape kits"), reporting to police, navigating the legal system, or alternative paths to healing, including restorative justice. We also offer inclusive peer support groups to help survivors and friends/family through the healing process. These groups are sometimes based on specific topics or populations and can be held in-person or virtually via secure platforms. Group agreements are part of all support groups, to create a safe space for participants, including clients in incarcerated settings.
SASSMM's community education and training programs are tailored to the needs of civic groups, social service providers, health care providers, municipalities, and local businesses. Our education programs dispel myths about sexual violence; promote support for survivors of sexual violence; increase community awareness of services for survivors and for their family members and concerned others; and engage professional partners in collaborative prevention and response. SASSMM increases community awareness of sexual violence prevention through programming which shifts cultural norms regarding sexuality, gender, and violence, and which helps create environments promoting respect, equality, civility, healthy relationships, and healthy sexuality. SASSMM’s youth programming in schools (Grades K-College) and beyond, embraces these themes through a scaffolded curriculum of interactive presentations and activities as a crucial addition to youths’ health education. Using methods that are consent-based, trauma-informed, and age-appropriate, SASSMM challenges youth to think outside the box about attitudes that contribute to gender-based violence.
